April 2008

The beginning of 2008 continued to be an eventful time for the Isis Ensemble. At the end of January we celebrated the release of our debut CD with a launch concert at our regular venue, St James Church, Piccadilly. It was great to see so many of the composers who feature on the disc present at the concert; Roxanna Panufnik, Rohan Kriwaczek and Salomon Cuellar were all there, as well as members of Sir Malcolm Arnold’s family and of course our Music Director Jacques. We celebrated in style afterwards with a champagne reception at the In and Out Club on St James’ Square. Music for Strings has already received some great reviews in the national music press as well as airplay on BBC Radio 3. We were also thrilled to be chosen as Meridian Records’ CD of the month this February and their Artists of the Month in March! Following yet another successful collaboration with the Lloyd’s Choir in April, we are looking forward to our third annual Summer Serenade Concert which will be held in June. More information can be found on the Concerts Page. In the meantime we are also busy planning concerts for next season, details of which will be added to the site as soon as we have them. |
